Contact lenses have come a long way since thier introduction and are now readily available to those patients with an astigmatism.  There are many brands of astigmatism lenses available to patients, including the newest type of lens containing silicon hydrogel, and are now available in a variety of colors as well.  Astigmatism lenses are made up with two prescripions, one to correct for either myopia or hyperopia, and the other to correct for the astigmatism.
